Youth

Sunday Club meets in the family area in church before the 10.15am Mass. After the opening prayer the children are taught in the Parish Centre during the service, returning in time for holy communion. Sometimes their work is shared with the congregation, and always on display in the family area. They also meet for an activity day in Advent and on Good Friday, and have an outing to the local pantomime at Christmas time.

We have a Rainbow unit, two Brownie packs and a Guide unit. For details of meeting times and places, please contact:
enquiries @ stmatthews-northampton.org.uk?St. Matthew's website.

Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts meet at various times in the Parish Centre on Thursdays.

Mums and Tots are a very thriving group which meets in the Parish Centre on a Thursday morning. There are lots of toys and musical instruments for the under-fives, and during the school holidays older brothers and sisters can join them for a sing-song in church.

The children from all these groups enjoy coming together for the annual Christingle service.

St. Matthew's welcomes the involvement of local schools in visits to study the art work, architecture, colour in glass, and religious studies in the curriculum. We provide booklets and worksheets for their information.

All the work with young people in St. Matthew's is covered by a Child Protection Policy approved by the Diocese.
