Regular Activities at St. Matthew's

The church building hosts many activities:

St. Matthew's is the home of The Northampton Bach Choir who give regular concerts in the church.

Recently the Swarbrick Singers have given concerts and the Schools Town Festival has made the church one of their venues. The Diocese celebrates a Candlemass liturgy for local church schools, presided by Bishops Ian and Frank.

The church organises and presents an annual Celebration of Young People's Music and Art for local schools. This takes the form of workshops in church stimulated by the art, achitecture and glass, led by Education Inspectorate and Advisory Service. The artwork in various materials is then displayed for public viewing, together with musical concerts and dance displays.

Due to the inclement weather of recent years Carols on the Green planned to be held on the green at the back of the church, with carols and seasonal stalls, has very successfully transferred to inside the church. This is led by a local brass band and our own choir, to which over five hundred people come for a community celebration.

The green at the back of the church is the venue for the annual Summer Fete which is usually held on the second Saturday in June
