Anyone interested in arranging a baptism, funeral, wedding or the reading of Banns can come to church on a Sunday morning (between 10.30-11.30am) after the main service, or contact one of the clergy.

 Sundays

PARISH EUCHARIST: next service - 9.20am on 29th January which is a Dedication Festival to commemorate the dedication of Holy Cross Church.

Holy Cross congregationThe main Sunday service is usually a Parish Eucharist which begins at 9.20am and lasts for approximately an hour.

The service includes well known hymns, a time for our prayers and sharing the bread and wine in Communion.

To make the service easier to follow we produce our own service booklets that follow the Church's year; beginning in Advent and ending in Easter.

After the service there is coffee/tea and biscuits and a chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Some Sundays there is even cake and wine to mark birthdays and special anniversaries!

On the third Sunday of the month at 9.20am we hold a special service called "Bread and Bible". The service starts with a Said Eucharist, which is a quiet Communion service led by Karen our Team Vicar. We then continue in a more informal style at 10am guided by Julie our Reader.

Families and children are very welcome to any of our Sunday services where a play rug and toys await them.

Baptism at Holy Cross Church On some Sundays we have a Baptism service either within or following the main service.

Again, we use an easy-to-follow booklet for the service with popular hymns such as "Kum ba yah" or "He's got the whole world in his hands".

The Baptism service usually begins around 11am.

 Mondays

MEDITATION: next service at 7pm on 30th January.

prayer candlesEach Monday at 7pm there is usually a Meditation Service. We begin the service by listening to a short piece of music and then enter a time of quiet reflection. This can include meditating on the previous Sunday's readings, reading through an excerpt from a Christian book or simply stilling ourselves and listening to God.

On the 1st Monday of the month the Service usually includes praying with the Rosary (Anglican version) followed with a short time of silent prayer.
