Australian Bat Lyssavirus Research A CSIRO information sheet - in June 1996, a new virus was discovered in Australian bats. the Australian Museum has a guide to the 90 or so bat species in Australia. It features a clickable map and some lovely colour pictures of most species found there including details on roosts, diet and conservation. Australian (S.E.) Bat Call Library The intention of this call library is to create a central source of reference calls of south-eastern Australian bats for researchers and wildlife managers. It is hoped that other bat researchers will contribute to this library with their own recordings. The library contains bat calls, recorded while releasing the animals in the dark, using ANABAT detectors.

The Agreement was set up under the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals, which recognises that endangered migratory-species can be properly protected only if activities are carried out over the entire migratory range of the species. Friends of the Far North Flying Foxes was established to look after the interests of the indigenous flying foxes of North Queensland, Australia.
